Dalton was prepared with ideas and locations for his senior pics when he and his mom walked into the door for his pre shoot consultation. First up, he wanted his session split into 2 sessions so he could have a summer and fall look. I don't normally do this because it really hasn't ever been something seniors have asked for. After shooting Dalton's sessions, I now offer a session that can be split and a mini session option for those seniors that want to add on to another session.
For Dalton's first session we met up at their house and then I followed them to a road that isn't too far from their home that doesn't usually have much traffic on it. This worked out for us since Dalton wanted photos with his truck in the middle of a non populated road. Of course, as always, when you say there is never traffic, there is always going to be traffic when you don't want it. Dalton had to move his truck a couple of times so that cars could go by and look at us funny. :)
Football is a big deal for Dalton so of course we did many poses with his jersey. My faves are when the sun went down and I pulled out my light so that we could get some cool moody shots and hey when your truck has lights the same color as your jersey you have to incorporate those to get the full impact!
I met up with Dalton and his whole family in the middle of harvest for the second part of his session. And when I say "the middle of harvest" I mean it. Dalton stopped working to change his clothes, fix his hair and clean the dirt from under his nails so we could shoot his fall look.
I absolutely love these harvest photos. It really showed what Dalton is made of. He is a hard working young human that is dedicated to his faith and loves his family. Watching him with his little sister, mom and dad brought a smile to my heart. He had set up everything prior to my arrival for his shoot in the field so that most of the corn was already harvested but there were some rows still standing. He had even thought of the detail of having the combine tractor full so it could be seen in his photos. Like I said, he had everything all planned out for his session months in advance.
Thank you to the Bartek family for letting me be part of something special to your family and witness that hardwork can be fun!
