It is always a little surreal when your college friends are calling to set up senior sessions for their children. Don't get me wrong, I love to be the photographer that gets to capture this time in their lives, but it also makes me think...am I really at the age of having a high school senior?
When Madison and Treyce's mom chose their session, she decided to give them a separate experience instead of doing their session all at the same time. So we actually did their sessions on two different days in two different months. Madison was first. She chose the top package of a 3 hour session that also included hair and makeup. She brought along her two best friends who are also twins and who were 2018 seniors. They jumped in a few pics when we were out at Lake Wanahoo and actually so did Treyce. Madison had some amazing shots but I think my faves were her softball shots. She brought her full uniform and gear so we could get some cool shots at the end of her session. I used a large diffused light so we could get the moodiness of the evening while she was in her catcher positions.
When it was time for Treyce's session he also brought along someone - his girlfriend who was very encouraging through out his session. She also jumped in for a few photos so they could capture this time together. Treyce loves the American flag and what it stands for. We incorporated this within his senior photos with the use of a flag and also using a mural that is downtwon Wahoo. The day of his session, the wind was pretty strong so we had to choose locations very carfully. It is a little easier to deal with wind with girls as it gives them a little Beyonce fun, but the guys do not want to look like they are in a wind tunnel. Even though we fought with the wind during his 2 hour session we were all happy with the outcome of his senior portraits as well. My faves? I am torn between his trumpet shots and the backlit portraits we shot at the lake.
