Sometimes the best laid out plans can turn to "let's go with plan b" kind of plan instead!
Megan's session had a little of both. I was actually not Megan's first choice for her senior photographer. Hey, I can admit that and actually, I am totally ok with it. In fact, this has happened to me a couple of times in my photography career and it is always good to be able to make someone happy after a not so great experience.
Megan decided to give me a call during her first round of senior pics when her photographer had said he needed to leave early because he had a function to attend that he was invited too. I do not know this "photographer" and did not ask who it was as I knew right off the bat after hearing how the session was going that this person wasn't a professional. When I say that, I mean, no professional would conduct business this way.
When I met Megan and her parents about a week later at her consultation we talked through a game plan because we could not reschedule as we were coming up super close to her senior yearbook deadline for Lincoln East. Of course when it came to her session day...rain. This wasn't a spring shower, it was a down pour at times. Luckily, since it was raining the cute vintage store, Home & Closet let us shoot inside their store since there were not too many customers. We were also able to shoot at a local florist; Oak Creek Plants & Flowers so that we could still get her shoot done. I think that Megan had some of the most unique senior photos because of this. It wasn't the normal locations that most seniors choose.
I am looking forward to getting to meet all of Megan's siblings in May when we do a family session before she heads off to college. It is always fun to see the entire family come together to make memories as the kids are going off on their own in a few months. Plus, I had such a wonderful time with Megan and her mom, Beth during her senior session!
