So you have selected your senior photographer. Now what?
Once my seniors book their session we also get a consultation on the calendar as well. This is a 30 minute meeting either in person or on zoom with my senior, parent(s) and myself to chat about what the seniors vision is for their pics.
Not sure what your vision is? I got you! Most of the time you actually do know your vision and I know the exact questions that will help you bring the vision to the forefront.
Prior to your consultation write down questions that you want to ask. Why do I say to write them down? You will forget them. Trust me. Put them in your phone as you think of them so that you are prepared that day.
What questions should you ask? Any question that you have! Seriously. I want you to be as prepared for your senior session as possible. Even though I will send you A LOT of info, I welcome all questions.
Here are a few to get you started:
What to wear?
Jewelry or no jewelry?
Best locations?
Where do I change?
Do I need a manicure?
Will my socks show?
Can I bring my pet?
I have a zit - can you retouch?
Do you design grad cards?
So what is the most important question to ask your senior photographer prior to your session?
At this point, you should know your photographers style and their work quality - which is very important when selecting your senior photographer. Now, you want to ask for their guidance with wardrobe selection. Photographers know what colors and styles that photograph best. They will also know the best way to maximize your session time and also get as many looks in your scheduled time as well.
My best advice for all high school seniors?
Don't just trust anyone to photograph you for your senior pics. Make sure they are the photographer that can bring your visions to life.
