I know when the word "urban" is brought up, Wahoo Nebraska isn't the town that really screams this setting...but when you really look around and utilize your surroundings you can make a photo feel exactly how you want it too.
When I photograph senior boys, most of the time it is because mom said so. During and after the shoot, I think I start to get the senior to come around and realize this senior picture thing isn't "that bad".
Caden and his mom picked out a lot of clothing options which was perfect because sometimes just a quick shirt change makes the background pop more and variety is always good for senior pics.
When you work with me, you will realize that I will use anything as a background..even dumpsters. Can you guess which pic has a dumpster in the background? In photographs, you can really use anything for a background as long as your photographer knows how to pose, light and use depth of field. I think this is my favorite thing to do while out on location with a senior as my seniors usually humor me and go with the flow - even if they are thinking "this woman is crazy". Caden was one of these seniors...he was very easy going and was up for anything. I always want my seniors to have a voice as well so I am constantly asking their input.
Pretty sure my favorite images are of Caden in the woods with his running gear on which I wasn't sure would work. I told Caden and his mom, Steph that I wanted to try something after his allotted session time and they were kind enough to indulge me. Using my flashes and a large softbox, I was able to light Caden within a dark wooded area at Lake Wanahoo. I honestly wasn't sure my flashes would be powerful enough so that is why I made sure to get his running pics just as we were at sunset first. When I took of the first shot and looked at the back of my camera, I knew we had something pretty awesome. I am so happy Caden and his parents agreed!
Thank you to Caden and his parents for choosing me as his senior photographer!
